Guinep is from the Sapindaceae family. The fruits are like berries and grow in bunches. They are tangy and sweet and are a summertime staple in Jamaica.
The trees are heat and drought-resistant so they are perfect to be grown near coastal and hilly areas where it may not rain a lot.
It is best to be planted at least 20 feet apart, but shorter fruit trees like limes, oranges or even guava can be interplanted with them.
Fertilize once of twice per year with an all-purpose fertilizer or just plant in rich soil.
